Upcoming Event:
Guru Purnima
On building a temple of Sri Madhava one can attain the eternal Vaikuntha-loka. One who offers a garden laden with fruits and flowers will attain heavenly pleasures.
Just by starting the construction of a temple for Lord Krishna, sins committed in seven births will be wiped out and one will deliver his forefathers who are suffering in the hellish planets.
Whoever constructs, or helps to construct, a Vishnu temple will protect eight generations of fathers, grandfathers and forefathers from falling into hell.
A person who build a temple of Sri Vishnu will get the same results as performing the Rajasuya Yajna and Ashvamedha Yajna.
O Best of the brahmanas, as many atoms are there in the temple so built, for so many thousands of years will he be able to reside in the heavenly planets.
One cannot be happy simply with the gratification of the body and mind.
The spirit's needs must be fulfilled. Therefore, we have to engage in activities that will evoke divine consciousness. This is possible only by hearing and chanting the divine activities of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. Human life is simply awarded to a living entity so that he can realize his spiritual identity and his permanent source of happiness.
Srila Prabhupada imparted knowledge that enables us to advance in our understanding of God and become happy by our association with God.
“Temple means a shelter for spiritual education. People should come, they should learn what is spiritual life, what is God, what is my relationship with God.. That is a temple.” -Srila Prabhupada
And Srila Prabhupada wanted a centre in kanpur also. He said," We should certainly have a centre in Kanpur."
This was Srila Prabhupada's purpose when he went to America in 1965 at the age of 69. He formed his Society called the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and within a short period of 12 years, he established 108 ISKCON temples around the world.
Srila Prabhupada wrote more than 17 letters expressing his desire to start a center in Kanpur.
To fulfill the desire of our beloved Founder Acharya, we, his disciples, grand disciples and followers made following endeavors in this direction.
In 2005 under the direction of His Grace Devakinandan Prabhu a row house was taken on rent to serve as a ISKCON Center. In the same year Commissioner at that time Mrs. Bhatanagar gave 5 Acres land in donation. This plot is situated on Mainavati Marga, Bithoor Road, Katri-Khyora, Kanpur -2.
In March 2007 Utsav murtis of Sri Sri Radha Madhavji and five devotees moved onto this land which was infested with Mosquitos, rates, snakes and very austere living conditions.
Devotees hard work changed the situation gradually, well-wishers came forward to help, gradually more land was purchased. Presently we have more than 15 Acres of land.
Vasant Panchami of Year 2009 installation ceremony of Big marble deities was performed.
The planned Temple Project layout on 12 Acres plot includes:

In ISKCON temple what I like the most is cows in the Goshala. I try my level best to visit Sri Sri Radha Madhav Temple everyday in the morning spend some time in the calm and quiet spiritually vibrant atmosphere in the temple hall. Spend some time with Lord Krishna’s cows feed them jiggery, have a look at the construction site and then begin my day’s work in office.
